Will Stafford at Fredericksburg
We have added two new chapters to the latest edition of Queen of the Nothern Mines. They appear after Chapter 17, The Hessian Girl, and describe Will Stafford's experience at the horrific battle of Fredericksburg – the pointless slaughter that set the standard for bad generalship during the Civil War. The new material is provided here for owners of the first edition.

Careful readers will notice the appearance of Dr. Forbes earlier than in the first edition of the story. His subsequent meeting with Will in the National Hotel in Nevada has been re-written accordingly.
– At right, Henry Fillebrown, first volunteer for the California Hundred.
